May Giveaway!

May Giveaway

Hello everyone! This month for my second giveaway I am featuring one of my favs on Etsy, OutofthePinkSky.

To enter you must go to outofthepinkskys shop and pick your
favorite item, come back here and comment on what your fav item is!
That simple!
The contest ends on Sunday, May 25th at 12 pm Pacific time.
The winner will be picked from a hat and announced Monday morning!
Good luck!

I have had my eye on her ever since I saw a post in the forums about her Cat Butt earrings. (pics at end of interview)
Needless to say, I'm VERY exciting about doing this giveaway with her. She has graciously agreed to giveaway a GORGEOUS pair of earrings. They are named Canary Frame Earrings, and here's a pic!:

Aren't they absolutely beautiful? I wish I could win them! :)

Here's a few details on them:
"These earrings feature a beautiful, bright canary yellow pod bead. The concave and convex shape of the yellow bead allows it to reflect light playfully. Above the canary bead is a fun, wavy silver frame with decorative dots on both the inside and outside. To top the earrings off, a sky blue bicone bead sparkles on the top. The canary and bicone beads are glass. To add to the playfulness of these earrings, a wonderful decorative headpin is used. You'll love the attention these earrings get!"-outofthepinksky

Not only is she giving away these earrings, but agreed to do an interview, so we can know a little more about her.....

1. I'm so excited to be doing this giveaway with you! So, first and foremost, introductions! Let us all know a little bit about yourself:

I'm Jill Brown, owner of Out of the Pink Sky Designs. I'm 34, and I grew up in Louisville KY. I came to Columbus to go to graduate school where I studied medical sociology. I earned a master's degree and continued into the PhD program. I worked all the way up to the point at which I was to do my dissertation, but I left before it was completed. My "day job" is in cancer research. I live with my husband, Matt, and our pug, Xander, who may be as close to having a child as we're going to get.

2. What inspires you?

Music, Asian culture, horror movies, and other people's work. My work is often inspired by all of these.

3. Let's see some pics of your workspace! (as-is, no cheating!)

4. Any hidden talents?

I have always been told that I can write well. In graduate school, the professors often commented on that when grading my papers. I also have raw undeveloped talent in drawing.

5. What is your regular job?

I manage cancer research. (All I can say to that is WOW! Thank you for your hard work!)

6. Do you Haiku? (write a Haiku about one of your pieces)

For the Helena Earrings:

Her cool, piercing stare

What must she be thinking now?

"I left the stove on?"

7. What is your favorite material to work with?

Beads and wire. I'd love to learn to do some of the more complex wirewrapping. The most complex thing I know how to do, at this point, is a Herringbone weave, but I love some of the more intricate wire work.

8. What are your favorite colors?

My own favorite colors are dark gemstone colors - royal blue, burgundy, emerald green, dark purple, and black.

9. And last but not least, which of your items would make a good Ice Cream flavor? (okay, I'm a bit addicted to ice cream!)

I think the Coffee with Cream earrings would make a really good ice cream flavor (pics at end of interview)

Thank you so much for the time and effort you spent into doing this interview and giving away these beautiful earrings!
