Taking a "Snippet" of your Treasury

Taking A "Snippet" of your Treasury (for newer PCs)

or of anything you want, really...

(For the EtsyBloggers May 26th Blog Carnival)

I don't think everyone has the snipping tool, for those of you that don't, here's a link to a similar tool: http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid,22944-order,1-page,1-c,alldownloads/description.html

I couldn't get the video to upload on here, so here's the link to it on YouTube:

I had to do the treasury in Poster Sketch because I don't have a treasury up right now, but you get the idea :)

Sorry, couldn't resist the star swipe!

Hope it helps you save your treasuries!

Now, for those of you that can't watch the video, or don't want to, (I just made it for fun) here's the basic instructions:

1. Go to your start menu

2. Go to All Programs

3. Go to Accessories

4. Go to Snipping Tool

5. Minimize Snipping Tool

6. Change to Full Screen mode (F11)

7. Center your treasury

8. Press your Windows Icon button (located next to your Alt button, looks like the icon for the Start Menu)

8. Maximize the Snipping Tool

9. Click "New" then "Rectangular Snip"

10. Move cross hairs to where you want to begin your screen shot

11. Drag mouse over area you want to capture

12. Let go of mouse when you are done, a screen will pop up where you can Save and Edit if you like!

Wow Katie! That was great! I was waiting for yours - I knew you would teach us some useful, geeky thing. Now I have to write it all down, so I can remember it! I'm going to try and use it as soon as possible.

I tried it and it works great!! There's so much on the computer that I don't even know about! And I thought I was half-way geeky. Wow!

Good tute. I do mine with the Print Screen key and copy it into my graphics program & just use cropping tool. Thanks for participating!
